A huge success for Consulting4IT at the B2Run Karlsruhe

Karlsruhe, June 21, 2022 – 31 degrees and it’s getting even hotter… Just in time for the start of summer and the kickoff of this year’s B2Run in Karlsruhe, the weather showed its hottest side. But that didn’t stop us from participating in the company run. With 48 registrations and 33 active runners, we actually broke our own participation record! In addition to athletes and sports enthusiasts from our own ranks, representatives from our client Rutronik (Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH) and our partner Varonis were also there.

Equipped with professional, CI-compliant running shirts, we finally lined up at the starting line around 7:00 p.m.—along with the other 6,367 runners. The 5.4-kilometer course wound through Karlsruhe’s Palace Park and ended right in front of the baroque backdrop of the palace. The heat really put the runners to the test, and yet: We rocked the B2Run! With two participants, we were able to place very high in the rankings: Lena Krech and David Hajduk!

David: Our top athlete and multiple Ironman competitor practically flew through the course and secured 4th place in his category (Over 35). This puts him in 11th place overall among all men! As a true Ironman, he didn’t even have to push himself too hard to achieve this.

Lena: She completed the 5.4 km in 25 minutes and 34 seconds, finishing 30th overall. In her age group (over 30), she even placed 6th. One thing is clear: no one can outrun her!

We are particularly impressed by David’s performance. His swim time of 19 minutes and 16 seconds translates to an incredible 16.8 km/h, or 3.34 minutes per kilometer. For him, however, it’s a piece of cake—after all, the course is roughly the same distance he typically covers by swimming in an Ironman. After which he goes on to run another 42 km marathon and cycle 180 km. A warm-up, in other words. His comment on it: “Short and painless.”

We definitely want to congratulate them on these outstanding achievements and are proud to have such top athletes among us! Our other runners also posted great times, and most importantly: everyone had an incredible amount of fun!

After the race, participants and fans were able to enjoy food and drinks at the company pavilion. We wrapped up the evening in a relaxed atmosphere under an impressive summer night sky.

By the way: We also donated 50 euros per runner to our charity project, the UNESON Lernfreunde-Haus, and made a difference by raising a total of 1,650 euros for refugee children. We’ll definitely be back next year to win a few medals and stay active together.
