Systematic Mobile Asset Management

Incomplete or outdated asset data leads to unnecessary follow-up questions, inaccurate inventories, and delayed support processes in day-to-day IT operations. MALM (Mobile Asset Lifecycle Management) provides a targeted solution to these issues—through a mobile, practical solution that brings asset management directly to where it’s needed.

With MALM, asset data can be captured and updated on-site and, if necessary, synchronized offline. Integration with Matrix42 Asset Management is seamless—and can be cloud-based upon request. From commissioning and relocations to return or disposal, MALM reliably and systematically supports every step of the asset lifecycle. Semi-automated processes ensure efficiency for all common inventory types—from periodic to continuous inventory. Depending on the device used, barcode, QR code, NFC, or RFID technologies are employed to capture assets quickly and accurately.

MALM also provides valuable support in field service and support operations: employees can access accurate asset data at any time or update it as needed. This makes asset management not only more flexible, but also efficient and future-proof.

Supporting logistics processes efficiently

MALM supports a wide range of typical processes throughout the asset lifecycle—on-site, on the go, and seamlessly integrated with Matrix42:

  • Goods Receiving and Storage
  • Installation and Delivery
  • Relocation and Change of Location
  • Repairs and Returns Processing
  • Regular inventory counts
  • Decommissioning and Disposal

During inventory counts, MALM automatically displays all assets assigned to a specific room or location according to Matrix42 Asset Management. The current status can be quickly assessed and discrepancies corrected immediately—ensuring a consistently reliable database. The hierarchical structure can be flexibly adapted to individual requirements—whether by location, organizational unit, warehouse, shelf, or data center structures such as room and server cabinet. Synchronization with Matrix42 takes place via the standard web service—either online or offline with automatic updates when a connection is available.

This ensures that every step in the asset lifecycle is documented in a traceable manner—in a structured, secure, and mobile way.
