Donation to the UNESON Learning Center in Karlsruhe
12,500 euros – That is the amount raised through salary donations from Consulting4IT employees and the management’s generous rounding up of contributions to support the Lernfreunde-Haus UNESON in Karlsruhe.
The center, organized under the nonprofit children’s aid organization UNESON, is led by Jasmin I. Sahin, who has been dedicated to helping refugee children for over a decade. The Lernfreunde House offers children and young people with immigrant backgrounds a place of peace and tranquility where they can process their experiences. Whether through art or music therapy, a workshop, or general educational programs—here they find everything they need to settle in peacefully, make connections, and prepare for their future educational path in Germany.
Because the Lernfreunde House is funded entirely by donations, it is necessary to cut costs wherever possible, and funds are therefore invested very carefully. That’s why Jasmin Sahin was overjoyed to receive the donation from Consulting4IT. “With this money, we can finally—among other things—buy good paintbrushes for our art therapy,” Sahin said happily during a visit to Consulting4IT last week.
Nearly the entire Consulting4IT Charity Board team, including Managing Director Patrick Hild, was on site to present the symbolic check and a small bouquet of flowers. During the tour of the facility, everyone was deeply impressed by the results of Sahin’s dedication and that of her volunteers.
Everywhere you look, you can see how they’ve had to improvise to save money, and yet everything has been lovingly arranged. “We’re short-handed,” says Sahin, who has even taken a leave of absence from her regular job due to the Ukraine crisis. “We need people to help us, to volunteer—whether it’s coordinating, working directly with the children, or simply serving as security at the gate.” Because in addition to the social work with the children, the building also houses a clothing bank for those in need. It’s often very difficult to juggle everything. That’s why Sahin wants to create permanent positions at the center in the future to make everything run more professionally.
Of course, given the ongoing need for supplies, utilities, and repairs, Lernfreunde-Haus is always grateful for monetary donations. The following donation account is available for this purpose:https://www.uneson.org/
