First Blood Drive

Charity Board Organizes Participation in the German Red Cross Blood Drive

On April 20, we successfully held our first blood drive. Our CEO, Mirko Oesterhaus, set a good example by participating alongside several colleagues.

The German Red Cross (DRK) blood donation service in Ittersbach/Karlsbad was particularly pleased with the number of first-time donors aged 40 and older. According to the DRK, it is always something special when this demographic can be mobilized.

Of course, the donors were well taken care of afterward and were all in good spirits and in good health. Doing good with little effort and practically for next to nothing—that is the whole point of the campaign, which also proves that, in addition to monetary donations (which are often just as important), a little physical effort is well worth it.

A brown paper bag, a lunchbox, a bar of chocolate, an apple, and a purple Easter egg from the German Red Cross as a small token of appreciation after donating blood.

We have organized various fundraising and charity campaigns on numerous occasions in the past. To manage these efforts even more regularly and professionally in the future, we recently established our own internal Charity Board. In addition to general donations to large organizations, we are particularly focused on local and smaller initiatives and organizations where we can make a tangible difference through our work and media reach.

The blood drive in Ittersbach will therefore not be the last one, and we look forward to continued strong participation.
