Senate Appointment of Mirko Oesterhaus

Mirko Oesterhaus Appointed Honorary Senator in the Senate of the Economy

Waldbronn, April 15, 2025: Mirko Oesterhaus, one of the managing directors and partners of Consulting4IT GmbH, has been appointed to the Senate of Economy. The ceremonial appointment took place on April 7, 2025, in Berlin as part of a lecture event organized by the Senate of Economy Germany e.V. and the Senate of Economy Europe at the Federal Press Conference Center with former Federal President Joachim Gauck and Dr. Franziska Brantner, Federal Chair of Alliance 90/The Greens and Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The award recognizes not only Oesterhaus’s personal expertise as an entrepreneur. Rather, the topics of sustainability, serving as a role model in corporate culture, and the company’s economic success are key factors. These are areas to which Managing Directors Christian Müller, Patrick Hild, and Mirko Oesterhaus have paid particular attention since the company’s founding.

The Economic Senate: Responsibility for a Sustainable Future

The Senate of the Economy is an independent organization dedicated to promoting an eco-social market economy and sustainable business practices. Its members—prominent representatives from the business community, academia, and civil society—work together to develop practical solutions to the pressing challenges of our time. They are united by the principle that economic success and social responsibility are inextricably linked.

Shaping the Digital Future

Mirko Oesterhaus has been the managing director and co-owner of Consulting4IT for 15 years. He shares responsibility for the company’s current strategic direction. But alongside the big-picture strategies, it is often the small details that make all the difference. For example, Oesterhaus fondly recalls how the appointment of a “sports minister” served as the catalyst for a surge in corporate sports activities. Today, the company has various teams that compete in a wide range of sports.

At the Senate for Economic Affairs, Oesterhaus will be particularly active in the “Digital Future” commission. This commission addresses key issues related to digital transformation, including data protection, sustainable IT strategies, and the promotion of innovation. The goal is to develop practical concepts that help companies successfully shape the digital future.

“Digitalization is a key driver of sustainable progress. As a senator, I want to help provide impetus for business and politics within the Senate of the Economy. It is also important to me to be able to give prominence to my vision of a United States of Europe,” Oesterhaus commented
on his appointment.
